general

At CoolerEarth, we are working hard to bring the most transformational technologies to everyday living.  We are constantly seeking out partnerships with the most forward-thinking manufacturers to provide you with as direct of link as possible to the producers of these technologies.  In an effort to simplify sustainability, we provide kits or engineered solutions to assist in the accessibility of these technologies.  Many of these technologies are still challenging to implement and should be performed by licensed and experienced technicians.  We are happy to assist with the technical implications of the technology.  Simply call 888-700-0099 and select '1' for technical support, or email:

solar

Successful solar installations depend on numerous appropriate decisions being made during the planning process.  Orientation to the sun, roof type and angle, shading obstructions, and mounting are just a few of the items to be considered.  During the consideration process, our experts are happy to evaluate your property for general installation considerations, but we recommend the services of an experienced solar technician prior to engaging in the installation.  CoolerEarth maintains relationships with installers in many parts of the country.  We are happy to refer or retain contractors who are able to perform installation services.

Although homeowners in most areas are able to receive a self-perform permit, the installation itself can have numerous challenges that will not be foreseen by a first-timer.  Mistakes that occur during the installation can result in loss of manufacturer's warranty protection, which can be very costly.  Additionally, most incentives and rebates from State and local jurisdictions depend on the installation being performed by a licensed solar or electrical contractor.  Often times, these rebates are in excess of the amount that an installer will charge for their services.

For a list of available rebates and incentives in your location, please refer to the Database of State Incentives for Renewables and Efficiency.  They are online at:

wind

Successful wind turbine installations depend on numerous appropriate decisions being made during the planning process.  Local wind potential, jurisdictional restrictions, potential turbulence and mounting heights are just a few of the items to be considered.  During the consideration process, our experts are happy to evaluate your property for general installation considerations, but we recommend the services of an experienced wind technician prior to engaging in the installation.  CoolerEarth maintains relationships with installers in many parts of the country.  We are happy to refer or retain contractors who are able to perform installation services.

hydrogen

You may hear that hydrogen is 20 years out from being implementable and wonder where we stand with the availability of this valuable resource.  There are currently many wonderful applications that offer hydrogen as an energy option.  In countries around the world, hydrogen is being used widely to power homes, industry and transportation, and is considered safe, cost-effective and reliable.  We will evaluate and promote the latest in fuel cell as well as hydrogen production and storage systems.

What is important to understand is that hydrogen is not a source of untapped energy, but is considered an energy transfer medium - similar to batteries.  What is unique about hydrogen from batteries is that it is lightweight, more efficient and longer lasting.  Another consideration is the availability of hydrogen.  When it it used in fuel cells from processes such as reforming natural gas, it is more efficient at the distributed level such as at a home than it is from remote power plants.  This greater efficiency results is less waste and carbon output from natural gas.

When used as a transportation fuel, it is much more efficient than internal combustion engines - even when the energy is derived from the grid.  When produced from renewable sources such as wind and solar, hydrogen is a more affordable transportation fuel than gasoline.  We do have to wait for some industries to catch up, but it is not hydrogen that is the stumbling block, it is perceptions.  We offer many different hydrogen products that are geared to R&D and OEM manufacturers for testing and implementing .  We will continue to offer home products that implement the technology, but it is important to us to get these products in the hands of universities and manufacturers so they can begin to provide these solutions.  In the meantime, we will continue to push the envelope and provide more solutions to you, the CoolerEarth consumer.
